ESPN Favorite Indianapolis Colts Raise Banner After Week 1 Loss
The Colts were beat up, 27-14, by Rex Ryan's surprisingly stout Buffalo Bills on Sunday. But in Indianapolis, where everyone gets a trophy for participation, they're ready to raise another banner.
Indy is the same downy soft team that hung a banner from the rafters of Lucas Oil Stadium after getting humiliated 45-7 by the Patriots in the AFC title game back in January.
The Colts have been outscored 72-21 in their last two games, for those of you keeping score at home. And star QB Andrew Luck has completed just 46% of his passes with 4.5 YPA, 2 TD, 4 INT and a 47.3 rating.
The Colts, of course, have a long history of wilting in big games like a Dust Bowl Crop. And Luck is rapidly shaping up as the next Peyton Manning, putting up big numbers against bad teams then coming up small in big games. But that history of futility didn't stop nearly every "expert" at ESPN from picking Indy to win the Super Bowl or picking Luck to earn NFL MVP honors this year.
